What a Day!

July 15, 2018

Hey fiends! Today was a really fun doubleheader! For the hottest day of the year, I'd say we had a perfect plan:

1) stay inside long enough to mingle over coffee and fixing things at Repair Cafe,

2) then head to Shelton to have a pop-up art party at Kneeland Park (the one with the awesome, gigantic gothic castle playground).

Thanks to our Repair Cafe volunteers we were able to save some cool items from going to the dump.  One project was to cut some old bottles and upcycle them (shown left).  Our next event is in October!

Thanks to my new friend Krizstina for helping to organize we were able to share lemonade, watermelon, and art for FREE! It was so nice under the big shady tree to laugh and paint rocks together.  Some people even hid their rocks on the park for someone to find.  Did you find one? Thanks for tuning in! See you soon!!

Library Fires and Technology

July 16, 2018

Hey fiends! Have you heard of iTunes U? It is a great resource for students and faculty, it is also a place to download university lectures for free.  you know I LOVE FREE. And I SUPER LOVE old books. Right now I'm studying this module about old books, the importance of their preservation and historical accounts of the systematic (and accidental) arson of treasured libraries.  For example, one lecture recounts the Tragedy of the Cotton Library Fire in 1731. Beowulf, my all-time second favorite poem, (which at the time only existed in one vellum codex, protected by tight, leather binding,) was among the willed treasure trove of medieval manuscripts, previously owned by Sir Robert Cotton and rescued from this very fire! Many threatened volumes were thrown out of the windows of the burning Cotton library of Ashburnham house, at Westminster London. Is it just me, or would you reconsider naming a library anything to do with fire? Food for thought. Thanks for tuning in! See you soon!!

Booking Tattoo Time

July 17, 2018

Hey fiends! Thanks for keeping me so busy this summer!  A lot of people have been asking, so I'm going to lay out step-by-step instructions on how to book tattoo time.  I've made it to be easy, but if it isn't please let me know so I may assist you or adjust the language to be more clear.

  1. Step 1 is to visit the booking page and fill out a tattoo request.
  2. Step 2 is to go to the tab page and secure your time by placing your deposit.
  3. Step 3 is to book your appointment with me via your preferred contact method (please specify in your request form)

That's easy, right? And if not, please let me know. Thanks for tuning in! See you soon!!
